Tel Aviv is known as the world capitol of Bauhaus buildings, but Jerusalem too, has a rich and surprising representation of the international style. Why does the style characterize mainly the Jewish neighborhoods? Why were the Bauhaus buildings in Jerusalem luckier than those in Tel Aviv? The architect Michal Della Pergola deal largely in her work with the renovation and expansion of historically preserved buildings in Jerusalem, most of them in the international style. Of the buildings that Michal Della Pergola renovated and preserved, one of the most notable is the “Villa Leah” in Rechavia.
